We had the great honor of being invited to the opening days of the 16th Sharjah Biennial. The official program began with the formal opening of the Biennial by Hoor Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Art Foundation and daughter of the ruling Emir of Sharjah.

Following the ceremony, we took part in a series of excursions to the Biennial’s various venues, which were spread across the entire Emirate of Sharjah. New additions to this edition included the Buhais Geological Park, Al Madam, and Al Madam Village — often referred to as the UAE’s “Ghost Town” — remarkable destinations in their own right due to their unique architecture.
Many of the participating artists were present on-site, offering valuable insights into their work and contributing to a rich program of performances, presented exclusively during the opening days. The celebrations concluded with a dinner in the desert at Al Madam, marking the end of a memorable and well-curated experience.
